Label of the Week (14/03/10): Full Story

This week’s label of the week Cuckundoo Records are a small independent label from the North West of England, formed in 2006 by Ben Winbolt-Lewis. With just three bands currently on their roster, Cuckundoo Records are one of the smaller labels we’ve showcased, but they pride themselves on selecting quality over quantity, with those bands being Vessels, Quack Quack and Escalade. Cuckundoo generally look to release music with an experimental edge that is still accessible, something that is clearly evident in Leeds 5 piece Vessels.

Vessels have been around since 2005, who have built up a reputation for being a stunning live out, combining heavy guitars with wonderfully crafted laptop bleeps and noises. They’re soon to embark on a new tour, calling at Bolton, Leeds, Manchester, London and Luxembourg, amongst other places. Head over to www.myspace.com/vesselsband for more details. There is new material on the way, but this is a recently released remix of ‘An Idle Brain and the Devil’s Workshop’ by Errors.
