The Shangri-Las were an American pop music girl group of the 1960s. The group was formed at Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York as the Bon Bons in 1963. It consisted of two sets of sisters: Mary Weiss (lead singer) and Elizabeth "Liz/Betty" Weiss, and identical twins Marguerite "Marge" and Mary Ann Ganser. In April of 1964, since the girls were still minors, their parents signed for them with Red Bird Records; Mary was 15, Betty was 17, and the Ganser twins were 16.

The Saturdays are a pop group formed in the United Kingdom in 2006, comprising Una Healy, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman. Songfacts reports that they decided on calling themselves 'The Saturdays' as it sounded fun and different to the other girl bands. They didn't want the name to reference their gender, like Girls Aloud, The Spice Girls or Sugababes. The Saturdays made their recording debut in 2007 under the record label Fascination Records, a sub-division of Polydor Records.

Danity Kane was an American R&B and Pop girl group signed to Bad Boy Records, first established in 2005. Formed on the third installment of MTV's Making the Band reality television series, the group went on to sell two platinum albums and be widely successful. After numerous conflicts the group officially disbanded in 2009. Each member's termination from Bad Boy was shown on seasons of Making The Band 4. The original lineup included Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard, and Wanita "D. Woods" Woodgette.

The Ronettes were a girl group of the 1960s from New York City, best known for their work with producer Phil Spector. They consisted of lead singer Veronica Bennett (a.k.a. Ronnie Spector), her sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. Their defining album is "Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica" from 1963, and their most famous songs include "Be My Baby", "Baby, I Love You", "(The Best Part Of) Breakin' Up", and "Walking In The Rain". Atomic Kitten were an English girl group, first established in 1997 in Liverpool. The original line-up featured, Liz McClarnon, Kerry Katona and Heidi Range (now in the Sugababes), but Range decided to quit and was replaced by Natasha Hamilton. Jenny Frost (formerly of Precious) replaced Katona in 2001. Hamilton, McClarnon & Frost were the final and most successful line-up of the group. Atomic Kitten had three UK number one singles; Whole Again, the fourth best selling single by a girl group of all time; Eternal Flame and The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling).
